This post contains pr gifts, but I have not been paid to feature these products.
Having combination skin, my skin changes with the seasons (if not more often!). Last winter, I really struggled with finding the perfect routine and I would wake up oily, get oily yet dry during the day and nothing quite worked. But this year I’m trying to be ahead of the game, and I think I’ve found something that works right now *touch wood*.
My morning routine is always a lot shorter than my pm routine, simply because I’d rather sleep than spend 30 minutes doing my skincare.
Good Molecules Rose Water Cleansing Gel (pr gift): this is so gentle, not stripping at all and foams up rather nicely. I tend to prefer a milk cleanser, but this is nice. For periods where I’m breaking out, the CeraVe SA cleanser is a must.
Caudalie Vinopure Clear Skin Purifying Toner: I was concerned this might be drying, but it’s just right. It contains natural salicylic acid and is great for ensuring my skin doesn’t get oily throughout the day, but it’s not drying at all.
Tiam vitamin c serum: this is definitely not my favourite vitamin c serum, however, this step is reserved for a vitamin c serum of your choice. Disclaimer: after I shot these pictures, I’ve started using the Kiehl’s 12.5% vitamin c serum, and I love it!
Kiehl’s Iris Essence: my favourite essence! I like using this do make up for not using a hydrating toner during autumn and winter.
Good Molecules Discolouration Correcting Serum (pr gift): this stuff works, you guys. I get pretty visible red marks after spots, and even though it’s no miracle cure, it has definitely lightened my red marks significantly.
Lancome hydra-zen moisturiser: this is my most difficult step. I’ve always struggled with finding good moisturisers, and quite frankly, I still don’t have a holy grail. However, this one is really nice right now! I tend to go for a gel texture moisturiser during the spring and summer, but for colder days, my skin needs more hydration and moisture. This one is not too heavy and it sits nicely under makeup.
Canmake Mermaid Gel Skin UV: I will do a full review of this one, but boy have we been on a journey! It’s a really nice and light SPF, and I almost found it to work as a primer for me. It leaves no white cast and absorbs quickly.
Banila co zero clean it: I always use a balm cleanser and right now I’m back to my old time favourite! This is such a gorgeous cleansing balm, it simply melts the makeup away. I also wash off with a very soft cloth, I like the Beauty Pie ones.
Beauty Pie Jeju Cleanser: as mentioned, I prefer a milk cleanser, and right now this is the one. It’s gentle, hydrating and very lovely.
Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliating Treatment (pr gift): I use this 3 times per week, and it’s so good! It contains 10% AHA/BHA; glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid to be specific and it is ridiculously affordable too.
Purito centella toner: this is my absolute favourite toner in the world. It does wonders for me! I will do a full review, but in short it’s hydrating and reduces redness like nothing else.
Kiehl’s Iris Essence: same step as during my am routine, I adore it.
Kiehl’s Hydro-Plump Serum: this is magic, trust me. The texture looks rather thick, but when applied, it turns into the most hydrating, watery serum. It just melts into my skin and makes it hydrated and plump like nothing else.
Purito centella unscented serum: the serum in the same series as the toner, another holy grail and must have in my routine! Again, I use it for hydration, reducing redness and inflammation, and it also contains niacinamide for reduction of oil production and skin texture.
Sweet Chef Kale Vitamin B serum & Beet Vitamin A serum: I alternate these two and use the beet when I exfoliate 3 times per week, and the kale all other nights. The beet is great for skin texture and appearance of pores as well as being hydrating, and the kale is just a hydration bomb.
Beauty Pie Ceramide Capsules: these are magic too! A thick, lovely texture leaving my skin feeling soft, hydrated and soothed.
iUnik Noni Light Oil Serum (pr gift): I’ve been loving this light oil and serum hybrid as my last step before moisturiser. I never found an oil I like, but this truly is light!
Sleeping mask: I have lots of sleeping masks, they’re my favourite! But some I really like are the Summer Fridays Jet Lag mask for deep hydration, Glow Recipe for gentle exfoliation and light hydration, and Beauty Pie Jeju for hydration and a moisture bomb.
I truly believe that a good skincare routine is the base of makeup staying put all day. If your skincare routine is off, your makeup won’t last either.
Do you have any must haves for colder temperatures?
